Why I do this work
My path into paediatric Exercise Physiology wasn’t accidental. I started coaching gymnastics at 13 — it was my first job, and it never really stopped feeling like a calling. Across my university placements, I worked in many areas of exercise physiology. Still, I always felt most energised working with children — helping them achieve things they didn’t think they could do, and supporting the families navigating what can be a really challenging journey.
“Movement should feel like play, not therapy.”
I still coach gymnastics alongside my EP work, and that background shapes everything about how I run sessions. Kids build real strength, coordination and confidence — they just don’t always realise that’s what’s happening.
Experience & background
I hold a Bachelor of Clinical Exercise Physiology (graduating in 2022) and have worked in the paediatric disability and neurodiversity space since 2019. Before I qualified, I worked as an allied health assistant in paediatric clinics and ran group disability sports programs — so by the time I became an AEP, I already had years of hands-on experience supporting children with a wide range of needs, including autism, ADHD, Global Developmental Delay, Cerebral Palsy, Down Syndrome and sensory-processing differences.
What families can expect
What keeps me going is hearing that a child jumped into a school sport they’d previously avoided, tried something new and loved it, or that a parent teared up on the way home. In my sessions you can expect:
-
movement built around your child’s goals, interests and abilities
-
a calm, encouraging, non-competitive approach
-
progress measured in real-life wins, not just clinical numbers
Inclusion & access
I’m a passionate advocate for inclusion and access to sport. I believe physical activity should be enjoyable and achievable for every child — regardless of ability, diagnosis or starting point.
A space where children can move
Sessions are held in a dedicated gymnastics hall in Toowong — a spacious, purpose-built space that’s a world away from a clinical waiting room. Mobile appointments may also be available across selected Brisbane areas.
